Requirements

  • Experience in automotive and or industrial equipment / machine maintenance a plus.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers) and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders, and saws).
  • Experience in operating various hand tools and machining equipment.
  • Experience with push-pull mechanics: essential for tasks like manual lifting, adjusting machine parts, or operating levers.
  • A problem solving mindset and a preference for hands-on learning.
  • Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains customer satisfaction by executing and maintaining the preventative maintenance of Plastic Injection Molds and ancillary equipment used in producing quality products that's delivered on time.
  • Perform preventive and corrective repairs and tests on Injection Molds which involves disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly primarily.
  • Safely troubleshoots, performs repairs, and executes all planned preventive maintenance tasks relating to injection molding tools.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Pays meticulous attention to assembly process details to ensure unnecessary rework.
  • Dismantle injection molding tooling and equipment to gain access and perform required standard work.
  • Safely works with appropriate cleaning agents and applies proper grease and lubrication as required.
  • Repair/replace hoses, wiring, valves, etc., reassembles and verifies proper function through testing.
  • Runs all 'manual' toolroom shop equipment as required.
  • Become certified for safe usage of lifting equipment / cranes for lifting large heavy molds, plates, etc.
  • Goes into production floor environment as needed to evaluate and or perform work on mold repairs within molding machines while maintaining mandatory high level safety requirements always.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes problems before any repairs are initiated.
  • Refers to documentation and or mold prints to aid in evaluations.
  • Troubleshoots and works with integrated pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Potentially works with injection mold hot runner systems including low voltage wiring, heating elements, etc.
  • Works with and collaborates with peers, set-up technicians / others and regularly reports status to supervisor.
  • Advises supervisor of any recurring production failures so that prompt corrective action may be taken.
  • Utilizes and maintains spare parts systems to ensure accuracy of availability.
  • Escalates recurring issues through the proper chain of command.
  • Maintains logs of all molds that have undergone preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains a high standard of housekeeping regarding work areas.
  • Follow all safety precautions on equipment, machinery and tools repairs per OSHA and complete all tasks or assignments as requested.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Continually demonstrates excellent time management skills, excellent attendance, and works extra hours as required to complete pending repairs.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Performs other related duties and job assignments as required.
  • Improves the efficiency and accuracy of molded products by documenting Reports reasons for mold repairs and solutions to help prevent future manufacturing interruptions.
  • Maintains logs of all molds that have undergone preventative maintenance, as well as controlling each of the molds.
  • Performs inventory of molding tools and parts and reports the status to the toolroom supervisor.
