The Attendant-Tool Room will be responsible for placing orders for hand tools, cutting tools, rework tools, as well as storing, issuing all tools and fixtures. Maintaining all tools and fixtures for the machine shop organized and proper locations. Up keeping the area and inventory. Attendant-Tool Room will use various measurement instruments to inspect defects and wear, utilize grinders, hand tools, and other items to accomplish their task. Additional tasks include performing cycle counting of inventory items and performing inventory transactions in AutoCrib. Attendant-Tool Room must communicate effectively with shop personnel to ensure timely service to machines and prevent machine down time. Attendant-Tool Room will use drawings, specs, programs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment/experience to plan and accomplish goals. Key Accountabilities: Completes projects and tasks with minimal supervision/assistance. Ability to perform in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate professionally internally and externally, both verbally and written Responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining tools and holders in an electronic format (AutoCrib and Excel) Maintain accurate electronic inventory records and transactions Proactive in identifying and recommending proper tool application for various materials and machining processes. Preset Tools using computer-controlled pre-setter and other manual gauges Verify kits to programs and pre-kit jobs based on sequence of dispatch or machinist Lead Quality Inspection of tools and fixtures upon issuance and receipt of such items Logistics of tools reconditioned tools and carbide recycling program Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management Can work on various surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in an assortment of positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment that weigh up to 25 pounds. May occasionally handle items that weigh up to 50 pounds (over 25 lbs with assistance). Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Able to make adjustments or minor repairs to tools and equipment Detail oriented, and a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision. Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste. Perform other related duties as assigned.
