The Senior Toolmaker leads CNC programming, machining, and process planning for new tooling projects. This role manages and supports multiple projects simultaneously, stepping in wherever technical or process expertise is needed to keep work on schedule and meeting quality standards. Beyond daily machining responsibilities, the Senior Toolmaker partners closely with engineering, optimizes tooling and manufacturing processes, supports certification efforts, and drives continuous improvement. This position is a key problem-solver, ensuring momentum, precision, and execution across tooling projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 4+ years working in a tool room fabricating and assembling complex molds, dies, and machine assemblies.
  • Experience programming, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
  • Experience planning work, tracking progress, and meeting delivery schedules.
  • Experience developing procedures and supporting design-for-manufacturability.
  • Ability to ensure tooling meets customer and engineering requirements.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process planning and maintain clear, effective manufacturing documentation.
  • Manage and coordinate shop activities across multiple active projects.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturability improvements to optimize cost, quality, and throughput.
  • Program and operate CAM/CNC equipment to execute tooling builds.
  • Own tooling quality, ensuring all deliverables meet customer specifications.
  • Keep projects on schedule through proactive planning and issue resolution.
  • Assemble, optimize, and support certification of tooling.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and performance.
