WE HAVE A 4 DAY FULL TIME WORK WEEK. We mold plastic parts for a variety of industries, including defense, aerospace, medical, industrial and consumer products. Our defense business is growing, and you can help support our military by working here. Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs. The Apprentice is responsible for assisting toolmakers in the building and repair of molds. This position is entry-level, with the goal of working towards eventually becoming a toolmaker. The apprentice will: Operate all equipment in a safe and knowledgeable manner. Learn by doing. Machines include surface grinders, EDM, lathes and milling machines Be responsible for cleanliness of the shop and keeping machines maintained and ready for use

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
An apprentice may have various levels of experience with machining, grinding, metal/woodworking or engineering.
However, the apprentice must have strong mechanical skills and enough math skills (geometry, trigonometry) required for calculating angles and shapes from drawings.
Must have ability to read mechanical drawings and have some familiarity with measuring tools.
The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to manage their time, be organized with attention to detail.
Must have the ability to use word processing and spread sheet software (Excel and Word).
Must be able to lift 50 lb and be able to sit and stand in stationary positions long enough to work on large molds.
Must have adequate vision to inspect tooling during maintenance.
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
