About The Position

Must plan, weld, and maintain tools and tool components. May be required to assist higher grade Welders.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
• Must also have a vocational certificate/diploma related to welding, if without a minimum of 1 years’ experience.
• Uses advanced shop math, a variety of precision measuring instruments and interprets blueprints.
• Moderate computer skills required.
• Must successfully complete all required training courses.
• Requires a vocational certificate/diploma related to welding or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in welding, to include tig and mig welding.

Responsibilities

• Performs weld operations necessary to construct, maintain, and repair tools and tool components.
• Works from drawings and specifications to fabricate tools and tool components.
• Uses a wide variety of fabrication processes for completion or modification of tools and tooling details.
• Requires the use of a variety of hand tools. Also requires the operation of manual machines including, but not limited to, band saws and drill presses.
• Uses a variety of measuring instruments including but not limited to levels, tape measures, and protractors.
• Performs deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
