About The Position

ATEK Metal Technologies is seeking a Tooling Technician to support and improve tooling performance across our foundry operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving both ATEK-owned and customer-owned tooling to reduce downtime, improve quality, minimize scrap, and support safe, efficient production. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy solving problems at the source, this is a hands-on role with real impact on daily production. You’ll work closely with production teams, have ownership of your work, and see the results of your efforts on the floor every day. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a tooling, engineering, or similar technical role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on tooling issues
  • Ability to meet tooling performance goals tied to quality and customer specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing or foundry experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor tooling performance daily, weekly, and monthly using defined metrics
  • Identify tooling issues and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Repair and maintain molds, core boxes, fixtures, and related tooling
  • Review tooling failures and adjust PM procedures or frequencies as needed
  • Work closely with Production, Set-Up, and Mold Supervisors to improve tooling reliability
  • Verify proper repair techniques to ensure consistent tooling performance
  • Recognize and correct common tooling defects independently
  • Document all tooling repairs and completed work accurately
  • Plan and prioritize work to support production schedules and minimize downtime
