About The Position

A Tooling Technician is responsible for tracking, inspecting, maintenance, and control of tools and equipment within Kirkhill's Tool Management System. This role combines hands on technical tooling support with clerical inventory management and tool distribution. Primary back up for Tooling Clerk and Tool Handler (Succession Plan to be a Tooling Specialist). Tooling Technician in conjunction with Mold Room personnel shall uphold Kirkhill's Tool Management System to be Organized and Standardized, Efficient and Proactive, and On-Time and High Quality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in material handling, production operations, or manufacturing (preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree preferred (equivalent experience in Tooling may be in place of a degree)

Responsibilities

  • Manage manufacturing/production request for tool delivery/transfer
  • Utilize Forklift or mechanical equipment to safely transport tools to and from inventory locations and production departments
  • Implementation of KHWI 24 Tool Management and Control
  • Perform and coordinate Periodic Tool Inspection and Maintenance
  • Support with Customer Property Assessment Reports (PARs) and internal requests to review condition of tools
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming tools to organized inventory locations
  • Maintain accurate Kirkhill Tool List in the ERP System (currently CSI)
  • Maintain tool storage organization and cleanliness for the Mold Room
  • Identify excess, dormant tools and coordinate either disposal or tool return/disposition from Customers
  • Properly manage all Kirkhill and Customer owned tools and handle per best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and operational procedures
  • Support process improvement activities whenever
  • Execute special projects
