About The Position

The Tooling Technician at ORBIS Corporation is responsible for interpreting blueprints and tool designs, performing mold repairs, and ensuring the efficient operation of tooling systems. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift Certification required.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Previous overhead crane experience required.
• 2-5 years of plastic molding experience required.
• Hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience required.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, tool drawings/designs, and create engineering drawings for machining and spare parts.
• Troubleshoot, solve, and perform mold and tooling repairs and retrofit work.
• Repair hot runners' systems, valve operated gating systems, and water leaks.
• Fabricate jigs, assemble fixtures, and manufacture parts for auxiliary equipment & presses.
• Perform mold repair and troubleshooting activities during production runs.
• Conduct regular mold preventive maintenance activities.
• Update EAM accordingly after performing standard work.
• Perform insert and version changes on molds.
• Participate in mold move calls.
• Work safely using personal protective equipment and follow safety documentation.
• Engage in Continuous Improvement and promote CI, 5S, and STW activities.
