About The Position

Key Responsibilities: Technical Knowledge The individual in this role must have a thorough understanding of Tool and Die Maintenance including: Understanding of machining, fabrication and composite materials. Inspect, maintain and repair tools and dies used in the manufacturing process. Set-up and calibrate tools and dies to ensure accurate and consistent product output. Troubleshoot, identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively during production. Maintain accurate records of tool usage, maintenance schedules and production metrics. Work closely with engineers and production managers and convey technical information clearly. Influence process improvement and problem-solving approaches. Area management and housekeeping best practices. Daily Tasks The individual in this role will perform the following daily tasks plus additional as assigned and can be expected to assist in other areas or departments as the business needs demand. Clean and visually inspect all incoming tooling from the production floor & log into PM software. Report any damage or excessive wear to Supervisor. Use of various brass hand tools for cleaning dies, such as scrapers, wire brush, etc. Utilize various polishing tools on extrusion tooling to maintain industry standards on all visible surfaces. Maintain complete inventory and storage of dies within the Die Maintenance. Work with Production planner and R&D to gather tooling as needed for production runs or new product development. Operate Die Maintenance Sonic Tank and Extrude hone to clean residual debris left during the extrusion process. Use hand tools for disassembly and reassembly of dies, such as brass bars, rubber mallets, Allen wrenches, etc. Ensure dies are properly reassembled by replacing bolts and stoning plates, as needed. Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards, making proper use of PPE, as required. Train operators’ proper care of extrusion dies, as needed. Be open-minded and effectively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Must be able to work independently or in a group setting. Actively participate in department team meetings. Motivation : Take responsibility for assignments, improve skills, and set personal goals with actionable strategies. Integrity : Be honest with company property and time, communicate respectfully, and resolve conflicts constructively. Reliability : Maintain punctuality, stay composed in stressful situations, and work effectively in a structured environment. Arrive fit-for-duty each shift.

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Lift, push, and pull, up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk around for an 8+ hour shift on hard and sometimes uneven surfaces.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching and climbing.
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination is required to manipulate small parts to make precise adjustments.
  • Maintaining steady hand/arm control for long periods of time while moving is critical for precision work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to operate various different styles of forklifts
  • Wear and operate required personal protective equipment (PPE). Including: earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves and high-visibility vests/shirts.
  • Vision and Visual Acuity to view, inspect and measure tiny components up close.
  • Read printed reports and data displayed on computer screens in English.
  • Fine motor skills to operate tools, including chop saws, staple guns, calipers and other equipment.
  • The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as yellow high-visibility vests/shirts, safety eyewear, steel/composite-toed shoes, and hearing protection, is mandatory in designated areas.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED or College education.
  • Previous extrusion manufacturing experience.
  • Previous forklift operation experience.
