Tooling Supervisor

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Supervisor to lead and coordinate multi-shift tooling operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for meeting production schedules, financial goals, quality standards, and delivery expectations while building a strong, technically skilled tooling team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing OR  Associate degree in Machine Tooling or Tool & Die
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Tool, Mold, or Die shop
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, and carry tools/materials during an 8–10 hour shift
  • Ability to support a 24-hour / 5-day per week manufacturing operation
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, communicate, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly tooling production schedules
  • Direct and support multi-shift tooling operations to meet throughput, quality, and delivery expectations
  • Coordinate outsourced tooling and die build services, ensuring quality and on-time completion
  • Prepare and submit accurate and competitive quotes for in-house die builds
  • Oversee die maintenance and sampling activities to ensure optimal tool performance and minimal downtime
  • Perform in-house die builds as needed to support scheduling demands
  • Identify training needs and develop tooling team skills to improve efficiency and technical depth
  • Establish and communicate clear job expectations using documented standards
  • Lead, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable to performance goals and company policies
  • Conduct and document annual performance reviews for direct reports
  • Support and lead scrap reduction and continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
