About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Quality Engineer to support Air Dominance Proprietary Programs in Berkeley, MO. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • More than 1 year of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience in auditing to quality system standards
  • More than 3 years of experience in fabrication tooling, working with tooling and tooling processes, or working in a tooling technical field
  • More than 3 years of experience with tooling inspection

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S Security Clearance
  • Experience with tooling making or tool inspection
  • Experience operating metrology devices such as CMM, Arm, or Laser Tracker using CAD-based metrology software
  • Experience with developing and executing tooling audits and RCCAs
  • Experience working with Supplier Quality processes
  • Experience conducting Inspections using ASME Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Experience working with Unigraphics (UG)/NX CAD drawings, Vericut and/or similar programs
  • Experience in presenting data to senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Performing Tooling inspection
  • Performing RCCA on tooling nonconformances
  • Supporting tooling fabrication and determining compliance to engineering and QMS requirements
  • Collaborating with other engineering support functions to resolve tooling nonconformances / challenges in composite manufacturing
  • Representing Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Providing Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Developing quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Participating in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Performing analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Providing material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Analyzing non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Recommending corrective actions to address non-conformances
  • Performing benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
