About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.

Requirements

  • Ability and desire to work a 2nd Shift or 3rd shift position
  • 5+ years of tooling or related manufacturing experience either as hands on or in a leadership role
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5 + years of required skills

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years’ experience Tooling or related manufacturing experience ie: Fabrication/Rework/Support Shops including Machine Fab, Jig Fab, Tool and Die and Composite Tooling
  • Basic Computing Skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees are working safely and following all applicable rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure attendance standards are met and time keeping is accurate.
  • Ensure all employees have the tools and skills to be productive tool makers.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees and the housekeeping of the assigned areas.
  • Communicate cross-functionally with all suppliers, customers and needed organizations to ensure all commitments are met.
  • Understand and work within the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Responsible for effective and timely communication with employees, peers and upper management.
  • Encourage and participate in process and quality improvements.
  • Ensure all employee training and certifications are kept up to date.
