About The Position

Manufacturing support position with primary responsibilities focused upon proper maintenance of injection molds and tooling including preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Position Responsibilities Review scheduling board and production schedule priorities as determined by scheduling. Ensure all molds are equipped with the proper mold inserts and molds are ready for production. Perform tooling preventive maintenance per schedule and standard work instructions. Perform End of Arm tooling construction and maintenance per standard work instructions. Perform mold all tooling repairs within CLC resource capabilities. Maintain accurate and records of all activities with molds and tooling including repairs, maintenance, status and general location. Receive, inspect and generate appropriate data for all incoming molds. Prepare all outgoing molds for shipment and generate appropriate data, including exit inspections as necessary. Communicate changes in mold status, location, etc. with all appropriate personnel. Perform planned preventive maintenance on all tool room equipment per standard work instructions. Maintain good housekeeping and equipment care in tool room. Ensure an adequate amount of tool repair supplies and equipment is on hand to maintain tooling and minimize downtime. Assist with tooling-related process troubleshooting. Perform machinist activities necessary for mold and tooling repairs as well as those requested by other departments. Participate in internal problem solving and continuous improvement activities. Actively participate in CLC cost-savings activities. Understand and adhere to all CLC policies, safety activities and procedures. Understand IATF16949 quality system standards and maintain compliance therewith in daily activities. Required Tools and Equipment: Must supply personal tools required for performing all mold maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in plastic injection mold maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hot runners and valve gate operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mold hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hot runner electrical systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in close-tolerance machining.
  • Basic blueprint reading.
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy.
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of IATF16949 quality system standards with emphasis on mold and facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and system documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to keep accurate and detailed records on all molds.
  • Ability to calculate basic algebraic formulas.
  • Ability to calculate basic geometric formulas.
  • Ability to convert millimeters to inches and vice versa.
  • Ability to actively participate in problem solving activities.
  • Ability to apply logic to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Moderate to heavy physical movement and exertion.
  • Ability to routinely lift 60 pounds.
  • Lift Truck operator's license.
  • Chain and crane training
  • Must supply personal tools required for performing all mold maintenance and repair activities.
