About the position

The position involves maintaining molds and tooling for production, performing mold and tooling changes safely and efficiently, and keeping the Tool Room Supervisor informed about the condition of all molds and components. The role requires scheduled maintenance on molds, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and repair of components, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic systems. The technician will also be responsible for transporting molds, documenting their condition, and adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on molds as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor.
  • Complete dis-assembly of molds.
  • Clean and inspect all components.
  • Repair any damages as directed by Tool Room Supervisor.
  • Install, replace, and maintain water and hydraulic fittings.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain HR manifolds, controllers, and cables.
  • Perform tooling changeovers after reviewing the applicable Mold Recipe Document.
  • Test water and HR systems prior to production.
  • Replace 'O' rings and seals.
  • Lubricate molds.
  • Transport and manipulate molds using forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Document the condition of tooling and inform supervisor of any major damage.
  • Check knock out rods, chute for mold, water lines/hoses, etc.
  • Return tooling and components to their assigned locations.
  • Hook up/unhook water, chute, and cylinder for mold changes.
  • Install/remove knock out rods, conveyors, spinner bowls, side shields, and thermolator.
  • Construct side shields, chutes, or knock out rods as required.
  • Adhere to all department safety procedures.
  • Undergo training and become proficient in all tool room related Phoenix Work Instructions.
  • Participate in additional training to improve knowledge and hands-on skill levels.
  • Use IQMS (MRO) to document P.M.s and work orders.
  • Follow all Food Safety related policies and procedures.
  • Follow all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • English reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to use micrometer, ruler, and caliper.
  • Forklift and man lift certifications required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
