About The Position

The Tooling Logistics Administrator is responsible for the control and monitoring of all tool and die systems. It is the role of this person to be the department liaison with the systems development team, and factory supervisory level personnel. The primary responsibility is to proactively maintain and develop the tools and work flows required for the efficient management of production tooling. This person will also be accountable for the reporting of continuous improvement and delivery metrics for tooling logistics operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years work related experience.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to assist in developing in-house software
  • Ability to work independently with verbal or written instructions
  • Ability to teach and mentor

Responsibilities

  • Manage work order submissions and log them into the tooling job tracking application, including the scheduling of new tooling orders.
  • Review all jobs to assure they are complete and reconcile open order list.
  • Answer all [email protected] inquiries and provide accurate guidance on specific tooling capabilities.
  • Execute tooling related help desk requests for all tool and die depts. and provide guidance on priority and completion.
  • Provide information for tool movement metrics and reports to tool and die management such as dwell time and usage of tools by IPN.
  • Monitor and maintain all procedures and work instructions and report to Tool and Die Management.
  • Determine the tool storage scheme and crib layout across multiple sites.
  • Document new tooling assignments within all company databases, including Tool Master, Kintone, and Excel queries.
  • Serve as the Tooling liaison for production and planning interactions.
  • Continually manage the assignment and return of tools that are issued to the production floor.
  • Drive the development and completion of projects as assigned by Tooling management.
  • Manage the availability of resources, including staff and materials to meet weekly department goals.
  • Define, gather, and analyze department metrics, and provide monthly performance reports to management.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and communicate effectively to management.
  • Perform workforce management staffing duties and oversee the workload of staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of assignments
  • Supervise staff performance, including ensuring appropriate training, oversight, mentoring, assessing competency, conducting performance evaluations, developing staff as well as disciplining as needed.
