About The Position

Summary: Responsible for working closely with manufacturing planning and CNC shop personnel to produce reliable tooling for use in meeting customer requirements by performing the following duties.

Requirements

Must be able to read customer provided drawing
Proficient in use of CAD/CAM software
Knowledgeable in G-code
Operating portable measuring equipment
Thorough understanding of machining processes

Responsibilities

Designs and creates NC programs for tooling per customer requirements.
Designs and creates NC programs for form tooling.
Designs and creates NC programs for assembly tooling.
Plans detail of CNC related operations for tooling components and corresponding tool assembly as needed.
Provides accurate setup documentation.
Validates NC programs for tooling prior to production use by using verification software.
Approves and places NC programs and setup information on machine server for shop use.
Performs troubleshooting on CNC programming related problems.
Participates in troubleshooting on production related problems that are tooling related.
Assists in tool assembly as needed.
Performs upkeep and/or maintains master files of programming.
Integrates improved and/or new cutting tool technology.
Participates in the improvement process by developing tooling to improve shop performance and quality.
Proposes feasible solutions for future overall tool related process improvements.
