About The Position

Position Summary: This position has several areas of technical responsibility which include tooling, applications, and programming support for manufacturing. This position requires working closely with machining and fabrication team leaders, programming, engineering, quality and production control functions to ensure “customer” quality requirements are met as well as, supporting shipping requirements and cost estimates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred.
  • 10 years NC programming/Fixturing are equivalent for degree replacement
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with Mastercam & TDM tool data management.
  • A minimum of ten years in manufacturing with experience in CNC programming preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess value of current cutting tools as well as investigate and assess new tooling technology for continual process improvement.
  • Assist Machining Supervisors and Programmers in proper selection of tooling on new projects with the intent of maximizing productivity.
  • Perform the role of “technical consultant” in support of the machining operation.
  • Assist with programming needs and support. This would include part programming, probing, and verification for program integrity.
  • Assist with assessing the needs of the machining organization through PIT discussions and CNC programming hardware and software needs.
  • Assist in CAR investigations to better understand root cause and prevention of non-conformances throughout the operation.
  • Write and maintain as required all TIL’s (Tool Information Letter).
  • Create Tooling Drawings
  • Provide Speed & Feed information and all necessary parameter data within the TDM system
