About The Position

Actively facilitate the preventive maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our existing high- and low-pressure plastic injection molds. Help coordinate, schedule, and optimize both the Tool Room equipment and personnel to meet production schedule and reduce unplanned downtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years of related Tool Room/Mold Shop experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with CNC programming and operations
  • 3-5 years of experience with applicable CAD experience
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to handle the stress of working with others
  • Ability to be available outside of normal work hours
  • Ability to work from an elevated platform up to 40 feet
  • Ability to serve as a leader, part of a team, and productively on their own, based on the circumstances
  • Ability to complete any required training and any corresponding company required work instructions for this position
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Ability to understand and comply with ORBIS ISO procedures
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate all safety and operational procedures
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and performance by ORBIS Corporation standards
  • Ability to decipher 3D engineering models, including isolate, extract and program to create needed components
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to tolerate a changing work environment with temperature variation
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with supervisor(s) to schedule and coordinate daily activities of both personnel and Tool Room equipment.
  • Maintain the ability to operate Tool Room equipment safely.
  • Mentor, teach and lead Tool Room personnel to follow proper processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot mold issues in and out of the press.
  • Utilize and teach best machining and production practices.
  • Maintain all applicable documentation and accurate records for mold history.
  • Assist other Tool Room personnel in general shop duties.
  • Follow corporate, department, environmental, quality and safety programs, including the use of PPE.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.
  • Offer mold, plant and companywide continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; is expected to promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
