Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and 8+ years of related experience or an Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Tool design experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair requirements, and engineering part prints
  • Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Familiarity with typical repair and manufacturing processes including machining, grinding, and special processes including shot-peen, welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray.
  • Familiarity with commonly used tooling materials.
  • Demonstrated competency in mechanical drafting, detailed drawing preparation, revision, and release processes.
  • CAD modeling & drafting experience
  • 10% Travel

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3000+ hours NX/Unigraphics
  • Teamcenter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review concepts for new repair tools for all Military Engine programs including F135, F119 and other legacy programs.
  • Create tool design layouts and final designs.
  • Review preliminary and final detailed designs.
  • Ensure tools are developed and produced in compliance with P&W Repair Tool Design requirements and customer expectations.
  • Perform form, fit, and function checks; complete tolerance stack-ups, process tool drawings for final release.
  • Resolve technical questions on tooling from customers and suppliers; disposition eQNs.
  • Collaborate with Repair Tool Engineers, Repair Design Engineers, and Tooling Suppliers as required.
