Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and temperature variation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and detailing of injection molds, mold components, and tooling assemblies using CAD software.
  • Support revisions, engineering changes, and updates to existing production tooling.
  • Create and update detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Collaborate closely with toolmakers, CNC machinists, and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
  • Participate in mold design reviews and manufacturability discussions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mold performance issues such as wear, flashing, venting, cooling, or dimensional concerns.
  • Maintain organized engineering documentation and revision control within internal systems.
