About The Position

Tool Tech II Job Responsibilities: Ensure that all duties are performed safely with knowledge of safety policies. Recommends opportunities to improve safety and educate others. Design, build, modify, and maintain progressive and compound dies, fixtures, gauges, and specialized tooling and equipment used in metal stamping and assembly Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, CAD drawings, samples, or instructions. Exercise independence with direct responsibility for quality, accuracy, and project costs, including die building, alteration, repair and maintenance. Select materials required to plan and layout machining and forming procedures. Measure or scribe metal or plastic stock for machining using measurement instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, rules, height or depth gauges. Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance or engineering changes on dies and fixtures to improve performance and ensure reliability Contributes to development of projects and provides recommendations for future investments. Job Requirements: Completed HS Diploma or equivalent Experience with fine blanking tooling Minimum of five years’ work experience in tool and die trade to include experience in fine blanking tooling, and operating various machines including grinders, milling machines, and lathes. Advanced Journeyman Tool & Die Maker or equivalent work experience. Requires technical knowledge as is normally acquired in accredited apprenticeship. Proficient in blueprint reading and CAD Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with other functions within the organization and external vendors. Able to transfer CAD geometry from solid models and create machine tool cutter paths. Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration as needed Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry materials and parts up to 45 pounds (with assistance).
