About the position

The Tool Technician - Parts Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the parts crib, ensuring appropriate stocking levels, and managing the procurement and control of indirect materials, supplies, equipment, parts, tools, and services essential for battery manufacturing operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, inventory management expertise, and the ability to maintain accurate records using CMMS (Maximo) software.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and issue spare parts, tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintain and update the CMMS (Maximo) system to track issuance and receipt of items.
  • Add new parts and update part descriptions in the Maximo system.
  • Monitor and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for maintenance parts.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain 5S standards in the parts crib and tool room, including organization, labeling, and disposal of obsolete parts.
  • Prepare preventative maintenance kits in advance of scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Assist in requisitioning equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain maintenance work records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Work overtime as required to meet internal and external customer demands.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant parts crib experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CMMS software (Maximo preferred).
  • Proficiency in operating a computer workstation and using inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier qualification, and vendor/supplier management.
  • Strong organizational and task management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and analyze effectively.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
