About The Position

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Tool Shop Attendant to join our Procurement team based in Mobile, AL. The Tool Shop Attendant is responsible for maintaining the tool crib which stores the tools and small jigs used by production. The attendant monitors the use of the equipment and ensures that the tools are kept in good repair. The attendant is responsible for two key tool crib functions: inventory and inspection of tools for wear and tear. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Requirements

  • Experience in logistics or tool management in a manufacturing environment
  • inventory management experience.
  • General knowledge of hand, power tools, cutting tool related to aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of shop safety (clean as you go/FOD) and OSHA regulations.
  • Use of Data collection program (such as SAP and Excel).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and issue tools used for production (including chemicals), and maintain records of equipment movement
  • Visually inspection of tools and equipment for defects and wear and coordinate maintenance
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment.
  • Support calibration activity under QA guidance.
  • Coordinate with local suppliers to validate material order receipt, availability, alternate and due date.
  • Create SAP master data and purchase request.
  • Coordinate with Strategic procurement for material consumption, batch order Quantity and order cycle.
  • Perform Good receipt and inventory adjust.
  • Participate to Audit preparation and Audit process.
  • Perform Aircraft Clip tools clean up using various methods such as Media Blast.
  • Perform daily consumable carts kitting activity and station delivery.
  • Participate in daily Production meeting.
