About The Position

The Tool Room Supervisor/Raw Material Handler is responsible for managing tool room operations and handling raw materials to support manufacturing processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, record-keeping abilities, and proficiency in Excel, as well as oversight of tooling and materials needed for production on CNC equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a tool room environment, with a strong understanding of CNC machinery and tool management.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to tools and machinery.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

  • Technical training or degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage the tooling inventory, ensuring all necessary tooling for CNC operations are available and in good working condition.
  • Issue tooling for production jobs, track the location of all tooling, and verify that it is returned and restocked in good condition.
  • Implement maintenance or review schedules for machinery and tooling.
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Research best pricing and lead time for tooling - both standard and custom items.
  • Restock tooling to ensure all tools are available when needed.
  • Receive, organize, document and transport raw materials for production, which consists of 12-foot bars of raw material (mostly stainless steel).
  • Provide physical inventory counting as required.
  • Work closely with CNC operators, engineers, and production managers to understand tooling requirements and address any issues that arise during machining operations.
  • Implement and maintain accurate records of usage, maintenance activities, and inventory levels.
