About The Position

Responsible for monitoring the inventory and issuing of all tools in the tool room including inspecting, maintaining, and cleaning of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) months to one (1) year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully certify and maintain forklift certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a general understanding of formatting rules are essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one or small groups. Must be a team player and supportive and cooperative of management and corporate initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the tool inventory, maintain tools, maintain the repair history tracking system and administer the tool loan process.
  • Verify completion of routine inspections on the shop overhead crane, slings and lifting equipment, extension, and electrical tool chords, fall protection equipment, safety shower, sandblast cabinet, ladders, and all other tools.
  • Manage vendors and vendors owned inventory to ensure accuracy and optimal stock levels.
  • Fabricate signs and labels.
  • Work with outside laundry service to ensure coveralls are laundered and stocked.
  • Support the ordering and acquisition of tools, materials, and supplies for maintenance activities.
  • Materials staging includes working with Planners and Leads to create job boxes for work orders that contain the parts, tools, and ensure job boxes are complete per planned work order.
  • Tool Room Operation including inventory and track tool room consumables, perform inventory and reorder as necessary and ensure consumables are added to job boxes as required per procedure or job plan.
  • Inventory and track tool room tools includes ensuring tools are added to job boxes as required per procedure or job plan, inventory and inspect remote tool locations, perform tool inspection, perform tool repairs and maintenance, arrange tool replacement as necessary, create remote tool locations in cooperation with Leads, Planners, and Maintenance Superintendent
  • Manage the Vendor Calibrated Equipment Protocol, including scheduling external services, checking and routing calibration records, and ensuring all specialized tools remain compliant and audit-ready.
  • Manage tool check out / check in and tool loan program.
  • Maintain rigging equipment list, rigging loft.
  • Inventory slings, come-a-longs, chain falls, cable slings, chokers, and other rigging equipment.
  • Track and identify new and retired rigging equipment.
  • Coordinate with certified rigging inspector (contractor) to ensure rigging inspection is complete and current.
  • Maintain respirator cleaning, inspections, and repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain Harness and Lanyard list and inspections.
  • Stock count assistance
  • Operate engraver to make various tags as requested.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
