About The Position

The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for managing, issuing, maintaining, and pre-setting tools used in production and machining operations. This role ensures tools are available, properly assembled, and ready for use to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of machining tools and tooling components
• Ability to read basic setup sheets or tooling instructions
• Experience with tool presetting equipment preferred
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking (if applicable)
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to lift and handle tooling safely

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools to and from machinists and production personnel
• Maintain tool inventory and track usage
• Perform tool pre-setting according to job requirements and specifications
• Assemble tooling, holders, inserts, and fixtures for upcoming jobs
• Measure and verify tool dimensions using presetting equipment and gauges
• Label, store, and organize tools in designated locations
• Inspect tools for wear, damage, or defects and remove from service when necessary
• Coordinate tool availability with production schedules
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool room
• Update tool records and documentation in tracking systems or logs
• Assist with ordering replacement tools, inserts, and supplies as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
