We are currently looking for a Tool Room and Wire Attendant (2nd Shift) to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Tool Room and Wire Attendant is responsible for managing the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools and consumables in the tool room. This role ensures tools and materials are available for shop personnel, maintained in good condition, and tracked accurately. The attendant works closely with various teams to meet operational needs and adhere to procedures for handling and issuing tools and consumables.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous warehousing, Naval Supply systems experience
  • Hazmat training
  • Experience performing truck/forklift duties
  • Industrial welding tool/consumable knowledge
  • Previous experience in inventory management, tool room operations, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in the industry.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic mechanical skills for tool maintenance and repairs.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Must be able to work in a team
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Requires a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle a high degree of confidential and sensitive information and the ability to work at all levels within the organization
  • Must obtain a forklift certification
  • Must obtain OSHA 10 certification

Responsibilities

  • Receiving Consumables and Tools.
  • Enter inventory into Dynamics.
  • Create inventory #'s for items
  • Follow EBFF procedures for issuing wire and consumables and notify QA/Management of any issues.
  • Work closely with EBFF team to meet tool/wire and consumable needs.
  • Maintain accurate log of wire oven temperatures per customer procedures.
  • Maintain inventory/perform spot checks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all tools and equipment.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Order new tools and equipment as needed and manage incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Issue welding wire/consumables, tools and equipment to employees and record transactions.
  • Ensure return of wire and check weight and condition or wire - discard per procedure.
  • Ensure tools are returned in good condition and perform necessary inspections.
  • Track tool usage and maintain logs for accountability.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance or repair services for major repairs.
  • Ensure tools are clean, properly stored, and in safe working condition.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all tools and equipment meet safety standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on the proper use and care of tools.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tool room activities.
  • Prepare and submit reports on tool usage, inventory levels, and maintenance activities.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track and manage tools.
  • Assist employees with locating and selecting the appropriate tools for their tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently and per procedure.
  • Pull reports from inventory system and distribute them to appropriate departments.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Additional duties as assigned
