About The Position

Employees will perform all operations required to support customer needs and must be willing to fill in and support any and all other class operations when demand arises. The position is entry-level in the tool room, where employees will perform a variety of job duties to facilitate the cleaning, breakdown, and storage of dies.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and understand written directives
• Knowledge of the casting operation preferred
• Must learn how to use measuring tools and operate tool room equipment
• Forklift certification required
• Must be willing to be trained

Responsibilities

• Clean dies and die components (coins, drags, solder, etc.)
• Move dies to and from the die repair area using lift truck
• Disassemble and assemble dies following standard operating procedures, including minor repairs such as changing ejector and core pins, repairing oil or water leaks
• Perform trim die repair and maintenance
• Remove hung castings from dies on Die Cast Machines
• Operate lift truck to move, load, and unload die, components, and materials
• Measure dies and die components using precision measuring instruments (ID/OD micrometers and calipers) to verify against part drawings
• Complete forklift training and operate forklift in a safe manner
• Perform heavy lifting
• Work overtime as needed
• Maintain a good attendance record
• Work in a safe manner to avoid endangering self or co-workers
• Report unsafe conditions
• Fill out all necessary paperwork
• Wear required personal protective equipment
• Participate in training to upgrade skills as necessary
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies
