About The Position

The Injection Molding Tool Maker performs repairs and major maintenance on all injection molds and fixtures used in the operation of the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• High School diploma or college degree.
• Machining school certification.
• Mechanical skills.
• Detailed and organized.
• Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, pneumatic, hydraulics.
• 6+ years in injection molding environment.
• Intermediate computer skills (Email, Microsoft Office).
• Experience in CAD software (Solid works) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that molds are cleaned, greased, and serviced correctly to be prepared for the next production run.
• Troubleshoot molds to include hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and mechanical fixes.
• Inspects and evaluates wearing, damage or abnormal condition in molds and determines repair actions.
• Performs high precision machining on manual Mills, lathes, surface grinders and EDMs.
• Utilize precision measurement techniques using microscope, micrometers, calipers, comparator, gage blocks and indicators.
• Maintains proper housekeeping of his work areas.
• Maintains records for tooling repairs, service and maintenance per established procedures.
• Coordinates shipping of components and molds with vendors when outsourced.
• Adheres to good manufacturing practices and safety guidelines.
• Follow schedule for work shifts, meetings, time off, overtime, and break.
