About The Position

The Tool Maker position at SPX Flow in Delavan involves developing tools, jigs, fixtures, and custom machine components for manufacturing a wide range of products. This full-time, permanent role operates on the 1st shift and offers opportunities for advancement within a global industry leader. The position requires high precision work and collaboration with operators to ensure functionality and quality of tools and fixtures.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • CNC basic programming and set-up skills.
  • Proficient in shop math.
  • Knowledge and experience to meet high precision tolerances.
  • Proficient use of various precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tooling, fixtures, and machining plans for production parts from part blueprints and concepts.
  • Diagnose and determine failure mode dealing with tools, fixtures and process equipment.
  • Repair and make modifications to tooling.
  • Work in high precision tolerance.
  • Set up and operate Manual and CNC machinery to hold close tolerances and fine finishes.
  • Perform trial prove-outs on tools and fixtures, collaborating with operators to facilitate modifications.
  • Interpret and understand complex blueprints and design intent specifications.
  • Test and prove out new processes for R&D and production parts.
  • Assist in the development and operation of a tool and fixture preventative maintenance program.
  • Determine required materials for tasks and coordinate purchase.
  • Self-inspect all work to ensure quality product.
  • Maintain work area, equipment, tools and material in a neat clean and orderly manner.
  • Interact with other departments as needed to perform related work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
