  • Manufactures functional tooling from project prints and CAD/CAM systems to meet specified tolerances.
  • Efficiently operates all standard Tool Room machines and inspection equipment.
  • Operates all polishing equipment and maintains equipment and supplies to support work load.
  • Blends radius and angular surfaces, shut-offs, repairs minor textures surfaces, blends runner, gates and polishes surfaces etc. within specified flatness.
  • Makes and sharpens cutting tools.
  • Assists in planning projects for timely completion.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and follows safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years technical/apprenticeship training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate all standard Tool Room equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blue prints and operate a CAD system.
