Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • An associate's degree in optical technology or equivalent preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • General understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques used to fabricate antennas.
  • General understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques of composite materials.
  • Prior experience in basic Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Familiarity with fixturing for irregular parts.
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
  • Able to write task procedures & processes under Engineering guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain 4-axis CNC or live tool Lathe machine to produce complex precision parts to exacting tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, and CAD/CAM models to ensure proper machining strategies and dimensions.
  • Understanding and application of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Perform machine setup, including tool selection, fixture mounting, and program verification.
  • Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machining processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve machining processes.
  • Document job setups and recommend process improvements to reduce setup time and increase repeatability.
