The ~4 year, 8,000-hour program will require on the job training on all shifts in all plant locations and will also include successful completion of required classes (~50 credit hours) at Muskegon Community College that will be paid for by the company but will be taken outside of working hours and will be unpaid time. Apprentices will be formally evaluated every 1000 hours. Continued participation in the apprentice program will be based upon acceptable job and academic performance. Apprentices will establish department seniority upon entering the program. Upon completion of the program, and becoming a Toolmaker, this departmental seniority will be used in lieu of plant seniority for shift preference purposes.
