About The Position

Monitoring normal tool operations and making suggestions / recommendations for replace / repair. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Ability to stand; walk, sit; and taste or smell.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all punch and die tooling used in the Production area, including sharpening of punches,  disassembling and cleaning, repairing parts, and other tasks related in maintaining of punch and die tooling
  • Maintain all slitting blades sets used in the Production area.   This includes sharpening of slitter blades, disassembling and cleaning, repairing/replacing blades, and other related  tasks in maintaining of slitter blade sets.
  • Installation and removal of tooling in production equipment.
  • Consult with tooling manufacturers on issues and improvement suggestions
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering group on tooling related troubleshooting
  • Establish and review procedures related to punch and die tooling
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of slitter blades sets and die tooling. In addition, ensure that the    production equipment always has backup tooling ready.
  • Create custom slitter blade arrangements – new blade spacers, different types of blades, etc.
