About The Position

As the Tool Hub Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, management, and optimization of a centralized Tool Hub facility based in Austell, which houses all statewide specialty tooling. This role ensures that the right tools are available, tracked, repaired, calibrated, and delivered with urgency to support technicians and service operations across the state. This position is a self-directed, independent role requiring exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency. The Tool Hub Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for tooling logistics and communication between technicians, supervisors, leadmen, transportation teams, and shipping partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or related equivalent required.
  • Computer skills include Edge, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language. Knowledge of Spanish language preferable but not required.
  • Creative thinking and problem solving ability.
  • Must be highly organized in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to take ownership of Work Tool inventory and processes
  • Exceptional organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • High level of accountability and ownership over tools, processes, and outcomes.
  • Comfortable coordinating across multiple departments and teams.
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to participate in required Yancey Bros. Co. safety training and annual recertifications.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and administer the tool hub management system, including Barcoding all tools
  • Tracking tool location, usage, condition, and availability. Managing tool check-in/check-out processes. Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records and ensure accountability for all tooling assets. Identify tooling shortages, aging tools, and upcoming replacement needs; proactively recommend solutions. Manage tool repairs, replacements, and lifecycle planning.
  • Logistics, Shipping, & Transportation Coordination
  • Requires coordinating daily tooling needs across the state through consistent communication with technicians, supervisors, and leadmen. This position works closely with the night shuttle transportation team and shipping departments to arrange expedited, next‑day, and emergency tooling shipments while ensuring accurate routing to the required branch or jobsite. The role is responsible for tracking all shipments to confirm timely and accurate delivery and for proactively resolving delivery issues to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted operations.
  • Communication & Internal Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all specialty tooling requests.
  • Provide clear, timely, and proactive communication via phone and electronic methods. Respond to internal inquiries regarding tool availability, delivery timelines, repairs, and status updates. Building strong working relationships with technicians, supervisors, leadmen, and support teams statewide.
  • Repairs, Calibration, & Coordination with outside vendors to arrange
  • Tool calibrations, Repairs and refurbishments, Specialty service requirements, Track calibration schedules and ensure compliance with required standards, verify tool condition and readiness before returning tools to service.
  • Process Improvement & Forward Planning
  • Operate with a forward-thinking mindset, identifying opportunities to improve tooling processes, efficiency, and availability. Develop and refine workflows that support scalability and statewide service growth. Anticipate future tooling needs based on usage trends and service demand. Take full ownership of the Tool Hub as a self-supporting, independent role.
