About The Position

The Tool Engineer is responsible for defining, developing, and managing tooling and equipment specifications for aircraft engine maintenance. This role ensures tooling readiness, lifecycle management, and supports production by resolving tool-related issues and implementing improvements. Define specifications for tools and machinery and manage their lifecycle to ensure operational efficiency. Support production teams with tooling-related issues and corrective actions. Collaborate with other engineering and quality functions to validate tooling concepts and alternatives. Drive continuous improvement of tooling strategies based on OEM data and operational feedback. Initiate automation and digitalization initiatives related to tooling. Maintain documentation and compliance with MTU quality standards and regulatory requirements. Define tool maintenance plans and calibration schedules to ensure accuracy and reliability of all tooling and measurement equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience in tooling design or maintenance within civil aviation or MRO environments
  • Familiarity with automation and digitalization tools
  • Familiarity with OEM manuals (e.g., CMM, AMM, IPC) and digital maintenance platforms
  • Strong understanding of engine maintenance processes and tooling requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in international teams

  • Experience with AI/RPA
  • SAP experience and CAD knowledge
