Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Tool Engineer (AMMM) Intern. In this role, you will be supporting tool manufacturing plans, concepts, processes, and procedures. The day-to-day tasking will include working with Manufacturing Engineers and tooling shop personnel to support tooling of our various platforms. A successful candidate can expect to: Participate and contribute in a fast-paced environment Be self-motivated, take initiative, and have strong work ethic Have a learning and continuous improvement attitude This position requires a detail-oriented and organized candidate with demonstrated technical proficiency and capability. Strong communication skills – written and verbal – are required to successfully interface with various departments within Aeronautics. Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical discipline.
  • Prior experience or demonstrated interest in operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on design and build experience through academic, extracurricular, or competitive team projects (e.g., SAE Formula, Baja, or similar engineering programs).
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Active membership in SME, SAE, ASME, or a similar professional/technical organization preferred.
  • Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
