About The Position

AriensCo is recruiting for a motivated and passionate Tool & Die Technician for our location in Fayetteville, TN. The role involves studying blueprints of die and product, assessing the condition of stamping tooling, setting up and operating machine tools, and ensuring the quality of machined parts. The technician will also be responsible for fabricating carts, jigs, and fixtures, as well as verifying dimensions and clearances of die components. This position requires basic problem-solving skills and the ability to work with tolerances as close as .001.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • General mechanical aptitude to comprehend and understand dies and fixtures.
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble tooling.
  • Knowledge or experience in operating various hand tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic mechanical blueprints.
  • Language skills to read and write simple correspondence.
  • Basic PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with air wrenches, grinders, and sanding equipment.
  • Familiarity with advanced machining techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints of die and product, die models, templates, and prototype parts.
  • Assess condition of stamping tooling and determine necessary actions for improvement.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining.
  • Operate surface grinders to ensure stamping dies are sharp and ready for production.
  • Fabricate carts, jigs, and fixtures as requested.
  • Lift machined parts and position them for assembly.
  • Smooth flat and contoured surfaces and fit parts to each other.
  • Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignment of die components.
  • Dismantle die and repair or replace parts.
