JOB SUMMARYDaily Supervision of the Tool and Die Department activities, including manpower allocation and scheduling of production.  Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring all targets related to Safety, Quality, and Productivity are met or exceeded

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Tool and Die, Machining, or Manufacturing Technology
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the Tool and Die trade.
  • A Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
  • A good understanding of “ Lean Manufacturing” concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, train, and assign work to tool and die makers, apprentices, and machinists.
  • Implementation of “World Class” Manufacturing Policies and Procedures
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Support in related areas of the environmental management system.
  • Health and Safety of all subordinates, including any subcontractor working in the area of responsibility.
  • Supports the Operational Performance Metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery, and helps ensure all targets are met or exceeded.
  • Manages daily repair and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Supports and contributes to the Annual Operating Plan regarding performance and cost expectations.
  • Know and enforce health, safety, and environmental rules
  • Seek to reduce safety risks, with support from the safety team
  • Know the health, safety, and environmental procedures in your area and make sure apply
  • Report accidents and incidents in your area
  • Training the team on the safety cards and making sure they apply
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues in the press and implement corrective actions.
  • Read and understand production schedules and coordinate work to be completed within a "Just In Time" environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
