The position involves repairing, maintaining, and making engineering changes to all tools and fixtures. The individual will assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up, and operation as required. Safely operating all tool room equipment is essential, along with the ability to assemble and disassemble tooling, dies, and gauges. Troubleshooting and resolving tooling problems is a key responsibility, and the individual will work with various materials such as tool steels, plastics, aluminum, and copper. It is required that the individual has or acquires personal tools to perform job assignments.

  • Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required
  • Safely operate all tool room equipment
  • Assemble and disassemble tooling, dies and gauges

  • Acquire personal tools to perform job assignments
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Journeyman’s certification (preferred) and/or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
