About The Position

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $29.15 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or a two year related technical college education preferred.
  • 1 year machine shop experience required.
  • Must have knowledge of shop mathematics, working properties of various metals and steels, and be capable of shaping parts to precise dimensions required.
  • Experience with manual lathes, surface grinders, milling machines required.

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in the construction, alteration, and repair of complex tools, equipment, dies, fixtures, gauges, etc., requiring a high degree of skill and knowledge of machining and tool building practices.
  • Sets up and operates conventional and special-purpose machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machine-ability of materials and layout techniques.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers.
  • Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
