Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to NAETC Tool and Die Center on a full-time basis. The Role: The Group Leader – Die Verification will lead die verification teams, including tryout, global die buy-off, and welders. You will tackle complex manufacturing problems, drive issues to resolution, and share and apply lessons learned across peer groups. This role requires sound independent judgment and strong leadership to enable employee engagement, technical skill growth, and continuous improvement within your department and the site.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the die business
  • Hands-on experience in die construction processes, including machining, assembly, and verification
  • Knowledge of CNC machining technologies
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (NX and TEBIS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to manipulate 3D models in NX for measurements and tool investigations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office proficiency)
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to excel in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Resilience and tenacity in challenging situations
  • Ability to lead hourly represented employees

  • Extensive Tool & Die shop experience
  • Strong CNC technologies experience
  • Deep hands-on experience in die construction processes
  • Journeyman's Card in Tool & Die or Certified Diemaker

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local and national labor agreements
  • Collaborate frequently with cross-functional partners outside the immediate work group
  • Optimize use of personnel, materials, and equipment
  • Train, develop, and coach represented employees
  • Provide technical guidance for complex processes and projects
  • Introduce and apply new tools, methods, and techniques to enhance manufacturing processes
  • Participate in strategic planning with partners beyond the work group
  • Evaluate and monitor equipment and process expenditures
  • Interpret and evaluate CAD/CAM data
  • Use problem-solving tools to support execution
  • Manage employee timekeeping in Kronos
  • Maintain TMaCS updates, including work-hour charging, forecast vs. actual tracking, and variance control
  • Partner with Technical Specialists and SMEs to implement lessons learned
