About The Position

Tool & Die General Helper This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join our organization and begin their trades career. We will support you while you learn skilled trades of Machining and Tool & Die Maker. You will begin as General Help, with the goal to move into either Upgrader or Apprentice roles, ultimately becoming a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker. What you will be doing: Provide general help and support to the tool and die shops by operating conventional machines, painting dies, cleaning and organizing, supporting management activities, and performing other general labor tasks Operate a Hilo and overhead crane in accordance with our safety policies Drive to various ArtiFlex and customer locations to pick up and drop off parts, mail and other items as needed Provide continuous communication with team members to ensure efficient work flow Provide help and support to a passionate team What you will learn: Basic operations of a tool and die shop floor including die construction and tryout The importance of safety policy implementation on a tool and die shop floor Who you will work with: Tool and Die Makers, Apprentices, Machinists, Maintenance Team, Technology Team, Production Team Competencies/Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 18 years of age Punctual, reliable, and safety conscious Mechanical aptitude Willingness to learn from senior employees Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. Position advancement: Those in this role will work along side seasoned die makers and machinists, with the opportunity to progress into Upgraders or Apprentice roles. This is a great place to start your career. Shift: Shifts will be assigned based on seniority level and work load. We run two shifts, Days and Nights. It is typical to move from one shift to another occasionally, as work load dictates. Requirements
