Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship or technical training program in tool and die making.
• Certification from a recognized trade organization or institution is a plus.
• Experience with CAM software and CNC programming.
• Proficiency in using machine tools, measuring instruments, and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treating, and material properties.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• High level of precision and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, modify, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Ensure precision and attention to detail in producing high-quality parts and tools.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines, to fabricate parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Inspect finished tools and dies for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance; prepare and update logs and reports.
• Install dies in various presses.
• Work closely with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure timely delivery of tools and dies.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
