Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent.
  • Specialized knowledge of math, physics, or engineering discipline.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Proficiency within a technical specialty.
  • Experience in fabrication to design tooling and fixtures with manufacturability in mind.
  • Experience with materials, hardware, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience with reading and understanding blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to easily work in a group and present designs for review.
  • Ability to visualize a concept, understand how it will be used and put it to paper to achieve the final results needed for the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts using CREO solid modeling software and producing detailed drawings
  • Processing multiple requests simultaneously
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams during development process to ensure design encompasses ergonomics, efficiency, reliability, and quality
  • Creating designs for fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and material handling equipment
  • Collaborate with outside suppliers to spec out and document hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical components on applicable equipment.
  • Reverse Engineer (documents) legacy tooling
