We are looking for a Tool Design Engineer to work at our Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) division, located in Jacksonville, Florida. You will be supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and Research and Development (R&D) projects. You will have an opportunity to work hands-on with the fabrication process for new composite & polymer products. You will be part of a team that is developing and manufacturing advanced, high-performance composites in marine applications for surface ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy. Position is onsite at Blount Island in Jacksonville, FL. Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Familiarity with CAD software

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of composite materials, composite & metal tooling and manufacturing processes.
Experience in tool design or related engineering role.
Working knowledge SAP
SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience

Responsibilities

Use computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks to create detailed 2D and 3D models and technical drawings for new tools, jigs and fixtures.
Prepare comprehensive documentation, including bill of materials (BOMs), cost, assembly instructions and maintenance procedures for tools, jigs and fixtures.
Modify existing tooling to boost efficiency, reduce downtime and lower costs.
Provide technical support to the shop floor to resolve tooling issues, perform root cause analysis on tool failures and implement design improvements.
Ensure all tool designs and processes comply with GD&T and industry standards.
Interface with external vendors and suppliers for the procurement and fabrication of tools, ensuring designs meet specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, maintenance, supply chain) to ensure tooling integrates seamlessly into production workflows.
Support other engineering projects as needed.
