This position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the readiness of all production tooling. The individual will monitor and manage inventory levels of all tooling and related items to prevent shortages or production delays. They will issue appropriate tooling to machine operators in a timely and efficient manner based on production needs and coordinate the repair of damaged or worn tooling to ensure continuous operational effectiveness. Additionally, the role involves properly disposing of and replacing tooling that is beyond repair, following company policies and safety protocols. The individual will also build and preset tooling for setups, lead, instruct, and train shift tool crib attendants, and maintain a clean and organized tool crib. Ordering tooling and other supplies while controlling the tooling budget is also a key responsibility.
