About The Position

Scot Forge Company is looking to hire two Tool Crib Interns for the Summer of 2026 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. A Tool Crib / MRO internship at Scot Forge will provide experience of technical improvements to the supply management system within a manufacturing environment. This intern will be supporting the MRO Purchasing team through their daily tasks and a critical continuous improvement project. The MRO team is responsible for accurate inventory of critical spares and commonly needed parts to support production needs across all aspects of all three plants.

Requirements

Minimum Junior standing in a Bachelor’s program, majoring in engineering disciplines related to manufacturing environments or quality assurance
Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
High mechanical aptitude
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.

Geometrical Tolerance specification/application knowledge
Prior experience operating forklift

Responsibilities

Complete overhaul of all inventory descriptions with focus on electrical & hydraulic components containing their specifications. Possible Utilization of Automation/AI to assist in description modifications to inventory
Exposure to cross-collaboration within the shop floor departments to support needs
Act on action items to support operational efficiency within the MRO department
