About The Position

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the inventory and issuance of tools and equipment. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing tools, as well as maintaining records of tool transactions and ensuring tools are in good working condition.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Familiarity with machine shop and mechanical maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and process procedures
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments and gauges
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to Quality
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently independently
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Understanding of safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • This position requires access to information, or technology, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Responsibilities

  • Manage tooling database software
  • Maintain inventory of consumable and perishable tooling, as well as other designated equipment, gauges, or supplies in the tool room
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, requisitioning stock as needed to replenish inventory
  • Analyze tool condition and develop a system for re-sharpening tools
  • Prepare and set up tools, including end mills, drills, reamers, and boring bars, according to work orders and setup documentation
  • Issue tools and equipment to personnel as required
  • Inspect new and repaired tools before issuing them to ensure proper operation
  • Collaborate with machinists to ensure they have the proper tools, identifying damaged or missing items
  • Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects, wear, or damage and promptly report issues to leadership
  • Coordinate the release of tools and equipment to vendors for repair when necessary
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and take responsibility for own work
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety and environmental procedures and promptly reporting incidents to supervisor
  • Prepare jobs and tear down set-up carts as assigned
  • Repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment as required
  • Recommend minimum and maximum inventory levels based on usage patterns
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
