GENERAL SUMMARY Issues and maintains measuring & test equipment (M&TE) and tools to people from various organizations from a centralized location that results in cost saving and time saving methods that allows work to be performed efficiently and safely. This is accomplished in such a way as to reinforce our Core Values (Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, and Mutual Respect and Trust achieved through open, honest communication) and to guide our daily activities. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Control and issue M&TE and tools including specialty tools and vacuums to facilitate production quality consistent with established scheduled work while providing a measure of accountability. Maintain M&TE/Tool Records for traceability of equipment usage to ensure a strong nuclear safety culture as measured by NRC indicators. The maintenance of the records allows trending and retrieval of information vital to the continual operation of Columbia Generating Station. Conduct interface between the Standards Lab and Plant personnel to ensure the availability of M&TE/tools while maintaining a high quality exchange through open and honest communications and applying Mutual Gains Bargaining techniques. Maintain inventories of M&TE, tools, chemicals/gases, and fuels/oils that enables workers within the Radiological Controlled Area (RCA) to perform work effectively by having a centralized location to draw needed items. Maintain a safe working environment by maintaining inventories of personal protective equipment, ensuring rigging and hydraulic equipment has been tested and successfully performing small tool repair. Maintain a safe radiological environment by following approved Health Physics Procedures and Practices and by interfacing with the Health Physics and Decontamination facility personnel to achieve As-Low-As-Reasonably-Achievable (ALARA) levels of radiation on the M&TE/tools and in the Tool Crib facilities. Recommend the levels of stocking inventories of M&TE and tools for successful operation. Recommend process changes that will enhance the operation of the Tool Crib.

Requirements

  • Applicant shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A working knowledge of hand and power tools with a preference towards maintenance experience.
  • A working knowledge of computers with a preference towards Microsoft Office products and 10-key experience.
  • Applicant must be capable of repeatedly lifting sixty (60) pounds and must have a valid Washington State driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work shift work as necessary.
